Talk-show host Jerry Springer, who recently played a limited run in the London cast of Kander and Ebb’s Chicago, will join the cast of that show’s national tour in Atlanta this September.

The tour of the Tony-winning revival will play Atlanta’s Fabulous Fox Theatre Sept. 8-13. Springer will play slick lawyer Billy Flynn.

Cultural icon and ringmaster extraordinaire Jerry Springer will star as the flamboyant lawyer and master showman ‘Billy Flynn’ in the smash hit musical Chicago when it plays the Fabulous Fox Theatre from Sept 8-13. Add this news to the fact that the show is celebrating eleven glorious years of girls, glitz and glamour and you’ve got pure entertainment!”

Springer will also star in the Chicago engagement at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center, Sept. 15-20 at the Academy of Music. The New York Times also recently reported that Springer is currently in talks to repeat his work as Billy Flynn for New York audiences at the Ambassador Theatre

Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.
