Alot of my friends (including Lori) love them some Ellen. When I lived in LA, we used to go to tapings of shows all the time. I had an audition in NY last year and while walking to the theatre, I was handed tickets to David Letterman. I went for free, saw Sting and Jim Carrey and had a blast. Everyone always asks me when they go to LA, what should they do thats “different”. Well, here are the steps for all you Ellen fans to be able to go see a taping of the Ellen Show.
Step 1 -Go to the official Ellen TV show web site http://ellen.warnerbros.com/ . On this site you will find ticket request information, contests, games, behind the scenes, bios, fun stuff and more.
Step 2-Click on the tickets heading at the top of the page. You will find the rules and requirements for requesting tickets. Tickets can be requested online. You can only request tickets for one date and a representative from the Ellen show will notify you if your request for tickets is accepted.
Step 3-There are also standby tickets available for show tapings. You can call 818-954-5929 the day of the show to request tickets for that day’s show
Step 4 -Be persistent. It may take several requests before you get tickets. However, if you’ve tried requesting tickets and haven’t been successful there are other ways to get to the Ellen Show.
Step 5 -Click on the Be a Part of the Show button on the top of the page. Check if there are any contests offering a trip to the show. Check out the other topics on this page to see if you have anything to submit to the show.
step 6 -Go to the Show Info button on the top of the page and go down to Be an Intern. You can also click on the Be a Part of the Show button and scroll down to find the intern information. You can send your cover letter and resume to the address listed or apply online.
Step 7 – If you have an unusual talent, a compelling story, crazy dance moves or something else original, send a letter or video to Ellen. She invites average, everyday people to her show to showoff their talents or tell their story and you never know, it could be YOU.
OK, there you have it. As a side note, pretty much every sitcom, gameshow, and talk show offers free tickets to their tapings. If you are a big fan of a certain show, (and you are going to be in NY or LA more than likely), just look up the show online and click tickets. its really fun to go watch the actors on set and you get to hear yourself laughing and clapping when it airs. woohoo.
