New Moon, the second film in the Twilight saga, is still two months away from theaters, but it’s easily one of the more hyped up films we’ve ever seen on the Web.

There have already been a number of trailers leaked, and when we hosted two stars from the film on Mashchat, it pushed our app to the limit as thousands of fans flocked to it.

Now, news of the film’s soundtrack has been released, exclusively on MySpace. Meanwhile, the first single from it – “Meet Me On The Equinox” by Death Cab For Cutie – is already available on the band’sMySpace profile.

This marks yet another big entertainment exclusive for MySpace, who is actively trying to reposition itself as an entertainment portal. Last week, they debuted the HD trailer for the upcoming Michael Jackson documentary – This Is It – and earlier this year, U2 streamed their album for free on MySpace before it was available anywhere else (legally).

This type of content can certainly help MySpace’s cause, but they’ll need a lot more of it to keep passive users regularly coming to the site.
